Holden’s back home

On Saturday 24th September, the Holdens returned to Elizabeth in droves.

‘Holden’s Back Home’, a celebration of cars built over the years in GMH’s Adelaide plant, was held at Peter Page Holden.

A fundraiser for the Leukaemia Foundation, there were around 100 magnificent vehicles on display. These ranged from FJs through to current model Holdens with just about everything in between. Car enthusiasts scrambled to participate and I got to meet a lot of nice people.

The day culminated with a parade of cars ‘heading home’ with a drive around the Holden plant in Elizabeth, slated for closure in late 2017.

A big thank you to Bob Wilson for allowing me to ride shotgun in his monster HX Monaro.

John with his beautifully restored HR Ute.

Peter with his 1974 LH Torana.

Long term Holden employee and Holden enthusiast, Gary.
